Meet Clary Bosbyshell - the founder of her eponymous Atlanta based firm, Clary Bosbyshell Design. Clary signature design style ranges from traditional to contemporary to create homes that are both elegant and practical - “I try to create timeless interiors that layer color and pattern with a mix of fine antiques and one-of-a-kind pieces,” she says. Prior to owning her own design business, Clary worked at her mother’s firm, Margaux Interiors Limited, for ten years.
We caught up with Clary Bosbyshell to learn more about her dogs, George and Magnolia, and the Dogwood bed she designed for Magnolia to match their bedroom.
Most importantly - tell us about your dogs! Name, breed, size, age? How would you describe his/her personality?
George- King Charles spaniel, he is a LOVE, cuddle BUG! Age 2
Magnolia- Tri Colored Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She is my old lady, sweet and sleeps all the time. Age 10
Where in your home is your Dogwood bed? Can you tell us about the room a bit?
It is in our master bedroom. George loves to sleep in the bed with us so this has turned into Magnolia’s bed. She has a hard time jumping in the bed and as she has gotten older likes her space. She loves her new bed !
What fabric did you choose and how does it work with the existing design elements? What inspired the overall combination?
It is the same fabric as on our headboard by Jane Shelton. The fabric is a floral chintz in icy blues so for the basket, I paired this with a Benjamin Moore match to Farrow & Ball’s Borrowed Light.
What is your general approach to living with a dog? When designing your home was there anything you took into consideration given your dog?
I let our dogs in all the rooms of our house, they sleep on all the sofas and beds. They are such joys that I just let them use the house, nothing is too precious and can always recover or replace.
